Milborne Grove

Milborne Grove was one of the earliest parts of the estate to be built on. Robert Gunter I granted leases to nominees for the builder Thomas Holmes who built Nos. 1-8 Milborne Grove in 1851-2. Presumably the nominees were financing Holmes building operations.

Work then stopped for nearly a decade when Robert Gunter’s son, Robert Gunter II, granted leases of Nos. 9-14 Milborne Grove to Benjamin and Thomas Bradley in 1861-2.
